BOSTON – June 27, 2013 – Email productivity company Yesware today announced that Dave Girouard, co-founder and CEO of Upstart and former Google Enterprise president, has joined Yesware’s board of directors. This news comes as Yesware’s free Gmail extension surpasses 250,000 active users.
Girouard founded the crowdfunding platform Upstart in April 2012. Prior to Upstart, he was President of Google Enterprise, where he built the company’s billion-dollar cloud apps business worldwide, leading a team across product development, sales, marketing, and customer support.
"Dave helped build Google Apps into one of the most popular SaaS applications in the world,” said Matthew Bellows, founder and chief executive officer at Yesware. “He's since gone on to launch the innovative and ultimately disruptive Upstart, proving his entrepreneurial drive. We're honored to have Dave join our board to help us scale our company and our vision."
As a founding force behind the Google Apps ecosystem Yesware is built on, Dave brings new expertise to Yesware’s Board of Directors, joining Yesware CEO Matthew Bellows, Yesware co-founder Rajat Bhargava, Foundry Group’s Brad Feld, and Google Venture’s Rich Miner.
"After spending many years building the Google Apps business, it's rewarding to get involved with leaders like Yesware who are taking the products further,” said Girouard. “Many companies have built products for sales organizations, but Yesware is one of the few focused on the value and experience of the individual user. Huge organic adoption by busy sales people suggests the Yesware team is onto a great thing."
Since its launch in September 2011, Yesware has grown to serve more than 250,000 users in thousands of companies around the globe.
