Images in templates

By

Have you ever noticed that if you include an image in your template the image disappears when you go to use the template a few days later? That’s because when you paste an image into Gmail or Outlook, it’s saved in a location that is only accessible for that one specific email. So, when you go to re-use it in your template later the image is no longer available. It’s still possible to add images to your templates, but you’ll need to host your images in a public-facing place like a public box.com folder, or a free image hosting site like imgur.com, used in this example.

Start by hosting your image in a place that allows public access. For this example I’m using imgur.com – start by clicking on the upload images button and selecting your image:

Once your image has been uploaded, copy the URL of that image. You’ll want to copy the exact URL of the image, not the page that contains the image (for instance, I’d want to copy http://i.imgur.com/zwLk6IU.png and NOT http://imgur.com/zwLk6IU).

Next you’ll want to head to the Yesware Template window. When creating or modifying a template use the “Insert Photo” button from the menu of formatting tools. In the ‘Source’ field insert the URL that you just copied for your file and you’ll see the image appear!

Finish typing up your template and save – you’re good to go!
